Texas Hold’em Rules

Texas Hold’em is one of the highly played poker game and is now a part of many poker tournaments and events. A five card game, Texas Hold’em is a multiplayer game where the objective is to get a card hand ranking higher and better than other card hands. The rules for Texas Hold’em is not much different than other poker games, as it also consist of phases such as Call, Raise and Hold.

This poker game is played with a deck of 52 cards. The cards are valued as per the face value where a card of 2 is 2; a card of king is king and so on. The card value descends from king to 2, where King is the card with a higher card and card of tow is a lower one. Aces can either be a higher card or a lower one, based on the player’s requirement. The suits are of same value in the card ranking and no suit is higher than the other.

The first two cards given two the players are called pocket cards, while the cards displayed on the table are community cards. First three cards displayed are called Flop, second card displayed is called Turn and last card displayed on the poker table is called River.

Flop, Turn and River are all followed by ritual of Call, Raise and Fold. These are the decision a player has to take during a poker game. Call is a situation where player places money equal to the bet in the pot, Raise is a situation where player could raise the bet by adding more money in the pot and Fold is a situation where player decides to quit the particular round of Texas Hold’em.
